Municipal Committee GhouManhasn has conducted survey of its entire area and following section identifies various key sanitation issues of town GhouManhasan. These issues are backed by the rationale of the same and are followed by recommendations that can effectively address these issues.
Municipal Committee GhouManhasan organizes thematic drives every fortnight. These campaigns and behavior change activities focuses not only on usage of toilets, cleanliness, waste management & not to use & sale of polythene bags but also explain the interlinking of health benefit with the usage safe and hygienic sanitation facility and keeping environment clean.
Municipal Committee GhouManhasan has also developed its IEC activities/strategy, and all IEC activities are planned and implemented by MC GhouManhasan are as under
Apart from these, MC GhouManhasan has also developed its own social media strategy and guidelines.
For declaring Municipal committee GhouManhasan (Urban) as open defecation fee town, MC GhouManhasan has sanctioned massive number of toilets and has adopted multi-dimensional approach for construction of toilets for the NGO/firms/contractors even beneficiaries are involved in this task. MC GhouManhasan has also developed ODF strategy, which includes creation of infrastructure, usage, sustainability and continuous IEC activities. Also adequate public & community sanitation facilities are constructed to cater to the floating/population and communities wherein construction of individual household facility construction is not feasible. In order to attain, 100% Sanitary & safe disposal of Solid & liquid waste, MC GhouManhasan adopted city wise approach wherein safe & hygienic facilities are created across the town and across all socio-economic classes.
